Cox Manufacturing Company has recently broken ground for its’ new, updated manufacturing operations. Announced at the October 2002 International Home Furnishings Market, the company plans a late fall relocation into the new facility located in the Cline Industrial Park in Hildebran, NC. Cox produces a wide variety of unique upholstered accent furniture for every room in the home. The company manufactures fully upholstered and exposed wood furniture, traditional to transitional styling in a broad selection of finish and fabric options. The move is the culmination of a planning process of over three years and a vision to keep Cox growing and innovative to meet the demands of the ever-changing home furnishing industry. The new plant will increase Cox’s manufacturing size by over 40% and will include the acquisition of new production equipment and manufacturing capability. Since its’ founding in 1932, this will be the third home for the Cox line, a testimony to the company’s focus, service and the loyalty of its retail partners. Mark Romeo, the company President and owner, envisions the new home to be a welcome change and necessity to keep the company competitive as retailers search for reliable sources for home furnishing products. New avenues and markets will be explored and expanded as the company grows into its’ new capacity. This will be the third plant expansion for Cox Manufacturing since the Romeo family purchased the company in 1973. Ron Romeo, Mark’s father, oversaw the company’s move to its present location at 220 10th Street Southwest, Hickory, NC in August/1980. Due to continued growth, the plant was later expanded to its present size of +70,000 square feet. The company expanded its marketing presence in April/2001 by moving into their present showroom at 117 North Hamilton Street, High Point, NC. Cox’s decade of sustained growth has spurred the demand for a new manufacturing plant. This growth and the company’s desire to remain a logical, dependable source of domestically designed, produced and quality built home furnishings product is the vision of the company.
