Woolrich Inc., which has been producing apparel and other products for outdoor enthusiasts since 1830, will launch its new Home Division in October at the International Home Furnishings Market. Lexington Home Brands (LHB) has been signed as the licensee for the furniture collection. The first of several forthcoming Brand Partner announcements, Woolrich Vice President of International and Home Licensing Dennis Marxen stated, “We are extremely pleased to be working with Lexington, a company well known for its expertise in developing and marketing successful branded lifestyles. Their range of popular consumer brands is enviable in the world of home furnishings and we believe that they will do a tremendous job with the Woolrich brand.”
Woolrich has a rich history of recognizing a need in the marketplace then filling it. From soldiers’ blankets during the Civil War to vests for railroad workers in 1870, Woolrich has developed products for a wide range of occasions and occupations. Today, the company has licensed Brand Partners that produce and distribute Woolrich products worldwide.
Bob Stec, Chairman and CEO of LHB, conveyed, “We are excited about having Woolrich in our stable of brands. It is a brand rich in heritage and very representative of the ‘outdoor lifestyle’ that so many of today’s consumers are seeking. It fits the LHB profile as it represents a way of life that is both timeless and relevant for today.”
The Lexington Home Brands showroom will be the site of the entire Woolrich home launch where all the product categories will be represented in a 3,000 square foot display. The furniture collection will include a full range of casegoods and upholstery “inspired by the outdoors, for the indoors,” all in keeping with the Woolrich brand image. LHB is recognized in the furniture industry for the many national brands in its product line. Especially skilled at translating these popular consumer brands to furniture, LHB designs striking backdrops in its showroom which incorporate each particular brand’s attributes.
In collaboration with established home furnishings companies, Woolrich is also developing licensed lines of rugs, lighting, decorative accessories, table top, table linens, wall décor, wall coverings, outdoor furniture and other products for the home. The new licensed categories are in addition to the throws, blankets, accent items, and related items that Woolrich produces.
