Taylor King Names Del Starnes President

Taylor King, innovative designer and manufacturer of benchmade upholstered seating and coordinating accessories, has appointed Del Starnes as its new president. "I am very pleased with Del's decision to join our company," said John G. Mullins, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Taylor King. "His diverse background and enormous talents are perfectly matched to the unique needs of our company. We are fortunate to get him and look forward to the many contributions he will make to Taylor King." Starnes comes to Taylor King from MotionCraft, a division of Sherrill Furniture Company, where he was chief operating officer for seven years and responsible for all product development, merchandising and manufacturing functions. "I'm very excited to join the Taylor King family, with their outstanding reputation for great styling and quality craftsmanship," Starnes said. "While my stay at MotionCraft has been rewarding, I am excited about returning to the high-end, stationary upholstery and occasional business." Prior to his work with MotionCraft, Starnes served as Vice President of Upholstery for Stanley Furniture Company. He began as a product manager in 1993, before being promoted to Vice President. His experience also includes a 14 year appointment as Merchandise Manager of HickoryCraft. Starnes and his wife Cindy have four children. They are members of West Hickory Baptist Church, where Starnes is a Sunday School teacher and choir member.
