Sealy Corporation, the largest bedding manufacturer in the world, announced changes to its sales organization, including the creation of a new senior-level position – executive vice president of sales. These changes are aligned with the new sales structure implemented in 2007, representing a commitment to provide the organization necessary to allow Sealy and its customers to successfully grow the business. Twenty-four-year Sealy veteran Louis Bachicha has been promoted to the new role of executive vice president of sales, effective February 1, 2008. Bachicha joined Sealy in 1984 rising through the sales management ranks in the U.S. to vice president/COO Canada in 2004. Under his stewardship, Sealy Canada consistently posted record sales and profit growth. His track record of developing strong teams of sales professionals, managers and executives contributed to Sealy’s decision to appoint Bachicha to the lead sales executive position. Steve Rusing has been promoted to senior vice president national accounts. Rusing joined Sealy in 1992 as a territory manager and has made significant contributions to the organization during the past 16 years. His most recent positions include vice president sales, West region and vice president, national accounts for mattress stores. In addition, Kevin Sisson has been promoted to the position of vice president/COO Canada. He was most recently vice president sales, West region. Sisson joined Sealy in 1995 as a district sales manager and has held various management positions within the U.S. sales organization. Chuck Dawson, who most recently held the position of senior vice president, national accounts, has left the company to pursue other interests. “The key focus of this new sales leadership team will be to work with our retail partners to direct a number of exciting new initiatives into profitable growth for our customers and Sealy,” said Larry Rogers, president of Sealy’s North America division. “These changes will help us to better support our customers, manage and develop our businesses and sales team, and achieve our goals of increasing sales and market share over the long term.” About Sealy Corporation Sealy is the largest bedding manufacturer in the world with sales of nearly 1.6 billion in 2006.
