Ligo Products, which has been showing in the National Furniture Mart since 1993, will open a new showroom on the first floor of the National Furniture Mart for the Spring High Point Market. Ligo’s new showroom, space 102 (formerly Peoploungers), is larger than its previous space at 19,000 square feet, their previous showroom was 17,000 square feet, and is in a prime location in the heart of the Market.
“We could not ask for a better location than this new showroom right on Main Street, said Dan Angus, Sr. VP Sales/Marketing. “This move will allow us to show a broader range of products in a very accessible location. Having this key showroom location in the most important home furnishings market in the world is very significant for Ligo. We know this will help us to continue on our aggressive growth pattern.”
Ligo Products has been one of America’s leading importers of solid wood furniture for the past 15 years. Its founder and president, Dr. S. S. Lee, began in 1989, importing casual dining furniture from Thailand. Since then Ligo has expanded in to occasional tables, barstools, and game sets. Over the years, it’s raw materials sourcing has expanded as well. Currently, Ligo sources from 5 different Asian countries. In addition to solid rubberwood furniture from Thailand, they now also offer solid and veneer product from China, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Ligo will introduce an extensive line-up of new products at the Spring High Point Market, marking its entry into two new categories, youth bedding and plasma TV stands. The huge growth in both categories is very attractive at both entry and better price points. Ligo will show 4 new complete youth groups and 15 new Plasma stand configurations in April. Also for April market, Ligo will introduce leather theater seating.
“Ligo was a tenant of the National Furniture Mart when we bought the building, and we have worked with them as they have grown over the years to become a leading name in the home furnishings industry” said Tom Mitchell, senior vice president and general manager of Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., “We are thrilled with their commitment to MMPI and the High Point Market.”
Buyers can get a preview of the new Ligo showroom during the Forbidden City Show, January 14-16, 2008 and Pre-market, March 3-4, 2008.
