Contemporary furniture design innovator BDI announced that it will be trading spaces before the spring 2008 High Point market opens, moving into a significantly larger, more spacious and more centrally located showroom in High Point. Previously, BDI has been located in the IHFC Design Center, space 509. But when the Market opens this April, BDI current and prospective dealers will find the company's collections of award-winning home theatre furniture, tables, shelves and mirrors in a new space – the IHFC Design Center, showroom 523.
"Our new showroom is 35 percent larger than our previous space, reflecting our company's growing product line," commented company CEO and design director, Bill Becker. "Committing to this larger space reinforces the momentum we're experiencing and our passion for this industry. We think it will also be much more convenient for our guests, since it is immediately off the escalators on the 5th floor, two doors down from our old showroom in the IHFC building." The showroom was previously occupied by Baronet.
BDI designer Cristian Wicha, based in Virginia, will be renovating the showroom. With clean, simple lines, the modern-inspired showroom will be angular without being rigid, giving it an entirely new look and feel from their old space.
In addition to debuting its new room, BDI will introduce more than a dozen new pieces at the Spring 2008 market. "Between introducing our new space and our design-driven new products, it's a very significant market for us, and we're hoping to welcome a record-number of visitors," added Becker.
To commemorate the opening of their new showroom, BDI will host a Market Party for their dealers on Monday, April 7 from 5-7 p.m. "This new showroom exemplifies the continued growth BDI has experienced since its inception in 1984," added Becker. "With the approach of our 25th anniversary next year, our Market Party will be a way to thank the many retail partners that have helped us get to where we are today."
