The Futon and Specialty Sleep Trade (FAST) signed a long-term lease for permanent exhibit space in the newest World Market Center facility. This move will provide its members with the opportunity to present their products and services among the majors in the permanent venues. The association has leased space C1440 in “Building C” on the fourteenth floor, to present futons, sofa sleepers, specialty bedding and related home furnishings accessories to national and international buyers, the FAST Board of Directors announced. The group was formerly Futon Expo and Specialty Sleep Show®. “The new FAST showrooms enable both futon and specialty sleep companies to move from temporary space to their own permanent space. Each exhibitor’s presentation can remain in place so they do not have to construct and dismantle their exhibits for each show. Futon and specialty sleep buyers and sellers have long expressed their desire and support for a permanent WMC location,” Sue Tedesco, FAST President noted. “Our members are now ‘out of the pavilions’ and into their own beautiful designated area where buyers will easily shop for specialty sleep and futon products. The exhibitors will benefit from continuity in their location so their customers always know where they are exhibiting.” The Board of Directors decided to take permanent space at the Las Vegas, World Market Center due to its swift and enduring rise in popularity with buyers worldwide. “FAST expects the World Market Center to continue to grow and to be central to the long-term well-being of the home furnishings industry,” Sue Tedesco said. The next Las Vegas Market is July 28 through August 1, 2008. FAST’s Board of Directors include: Richard Arnovitz (Futon Store, Memphis, TN); Karen Day (Otis Bedding, Buffalo, NY); Tom Erdman (Handy Living, Chicago IL); Tim Harwell (Action Futons, Clearwater, FL) and Susan Tedesco (Institute of Futon, Orlando FL).
