Responding to the evolution in the home furnishings industry, six leading home furnishings carriers advised by Sequence Investment Partners headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, have agreed to merge operations into one new organization, World Wide Logistics. The new company brings together specialized furniture carriers Four Truckers of Morganton, NC; Furniture Transportation Systems (FTS) of Pomona, CA; Milwaukee Delivery Service of Jefferson, WI; Palmer Transport of Ontario, CA; Rudisill Transportation of Hickory, NC; and Warren Trucking of Martinsville, VA;. Building on the strengths and reliability of each individual carrier, World Wide Logistics (WWL) covers the largest geographic footprint of any asset-based specialized furniture transportation company.
“We listened to the furniture industry and have created the most complete solution in the marketplace,” says Dan Hunt WWL CEO. “This world class organization takes the specialized transportation services of the home furnishings industry to a new level. The structure of WWL maintains the existence of the underlying subsidiary companies intact and operational. This ensures that our customers will continue to enjoy the same personal relationships that they have had in the past with each of the WWL companies going forward.”
With combined revenues of approximately $100,000,000. World Wide Logistics (WWL) offers a one-stop solution for warehousing, distribution and logistics management to meet all of the transportation needs of manufacturers, importers and retailers. Warehouses and distribution centers strategically located throughout the US, including four on the West Coast, one in the Midwest, one in the Southwest and three on the East Coast, meet the international and regional transportation needs of customers.
Through our domestic distribution network and international alliances, WWL provides complete supply chain logistics services including LCL consolidation, direct containers, de-vanning, split container distribution and regional warehousing for local and home delivery.
WWL is the only specialized residential and office carrier to provide less than truckload (LTL) service to all points in the US. These services are supplemented by an exclusive partnership with Western Logistics, a Canadian based specialized furniture carrier with 12 service centers throughout Canada.
To support the unique information needs of each customer, WWL’s state-of-the-art technology will be integrated throughout the organization. Through their interactive website, WWL will be able to provide real-time information tailored to meet the ever-changing needs of the residential and office furniture industry.
Adding to their comprehensive presence in the marketplace, WWL is also partnering with a highly respected technology vendor. This will leverage the expertise of WWL and further encourage the development of information solutions to maximize the partnerships between WWL and their customers. This partnership differentiates WWL from any other logistics provider in the industry and creates an unparalleled value-added benefit for WWL customers.
The new headquarters for World Wide Logistics will be located in Western North Carolina and will be the base of operations for executive, financial, technology and sales management.
