National Home Furnishings Association’s New England Chapter honored former retailer Len Bloomberg for his contributions to advancing the goals of both his fellow retailers and factory representatives. Sixty industry members gathered May 14 at a luncheon in Saugus, Mass., to honor Bloomberg, former owner of Today’s Home Furniture, Swampscott, Mass., who served as chapter president from 2002 through 2006. Representatives presented Bloomberg with the Arthur Adelizzi Award. The award is named for the late president and chairman of the Home Furnishings Association of New England (HFANE) and president of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association. Bloomberg was cited in “grateful appreciation for his inspired guidance in advancing the goals, security and welfare of home furnishings representatives.” HFANE members are now a part of NHFA’s New England Chapter. Bloomberg received the second award in appreciation of his five years service as president of the Chapter. Current Chapter president Joe Quintal, Rotman’s Furniture, Worcester, Mass., made the presentations. The luncheon and awards ceremony followed a morning tour of Jordan’s Furniture, Reading, Mass., hosted by Eliot Tatelman.
