City of Hope, a leading research and treatment center for cancer and other life-threatening diseases, announced that it will move its Spirit of Life dinner, a tradition at High Point’s Fall Market, to the Spring Market this year. The annual dinner event, at which industry leaders are honored for their philanthropic and professional achievements, will launch a yearlong fundraising campaign which includes several ancillary regional events to benefit City of Hope.
"We are excited to kick off our annual fundraising efforts by honoring the Industry’s leadership with our national Spirit of Life Award gala during the High Point Spring Market,” said Michael Sandler, assistant director of development, City of Hope. “Moving our gala to Spring Market will serve as a jumpstart to our 2009 fundraising campaign. We’re grateful for the industry’s tremendous support of our efforts to move discoveries into treatments for cancer patients everywhere.” The campaign year includes the West Coast Golf and Tennis Tournament in June, the Midwest Dinner Cruise in August and the Hike for Hope in October.
The dinner will also move back to its original venue, the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons, 3121 High Point Road at I-40. For more information or to make a reservation, contact Michael Sandler at 800-272-2310 or at msandler@coh.org.
Created more than 40 years ago by a group of industry leaders who wanted to help fund the search for a cure for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, City of Hope’s National Home Furnishings Industry chapter has grown to include representatives from all facets of the industry including retail, manufacturing and publishing. To date, the group has raised over $40 million for City of Hope.
