Retail and showroom design firm GRID2 announced that Comfort Solutions by King Koil will unveil a dramatic, 5,000 square-foot showroom expansion at the summer Las Vegas Furniture Market.
In the new space, adjacent to King Koil’s existing showroom, A-546, which was designed by GRID2 in 2005, a luxurious, dreamlike setting showcases the mattress manufacturer’s high-end Natural Response line.
To create the unique effect, a monochromatic white color scheme with silver accents is used. Oversized accents and the addition of fireplaces and chandeliers nod to Rococo-inspired opulence. “We have created a sense of theater for buyers and a way to engage them” said Martin Roberts, president of GRID2. “We want to help our clients begin the conversation with their customers just as we do with consumers in retail stores.”
The showroom expansion uses architectural elements borrowed from the fashion industry, including six-by-six-foot vitrines. Inside, luxury symbols — dramatic chandeliers, silver leaf, exquisite wallpaper, detailed moldings, hand-painted designs, elements of satin and silk, ornamental mirrors, intricately carved headboards, puddled drapes — help to communicate the upscale product positioning.
GRID2 used a team of display artists, faux-finishing painters, interior designers, architects, graphic designers, a project manager, and a team of buyers to pull off the showroom transformation. Interested retailers may contact GRID2 for details regarding store displays.
“This is a wholly effective approach for presenting home furnishings products,” said Roberts. “It’s the theatre that makes it a must-see experience.”
