The High Point Market Authority announced that Dell Inc., a leading global systems and services company with a 750,000-square-foot desktop computer production facility in the Piedmont Triad, is working with the High Point Market Authority to help disseminate information to Market guests.
Dell’s state-of-the-art computers will power new Product Locator stations located in the lobbies of Market’s major multi-tenant buildings and the High Point Market Information Booths across Market. Dell computers will also provide Internet access in the Merchandise Mart Properties and Domestic Buyer Centers located in Showplace and the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC), and the High Point Market Media Center.
“Dell is happy to work with the High Point Market Authority and support the High Point Market,” says Mehran Ravanpay, director, North Carolina Operations, Dell Inc. “The High Point Market is a cornerstone in North Carolina history and brings participants from around the world to the Piedmont Triad. Indeed, the impact of the Market resonates throughout the State. This sponsorship is an excellent opportunity to showcase our world-class computers in the ambiance of the world’s most beautiful furnishings.”
The new Product Locator stations enable attendees to research the offerings of exhibitors and events throughout the Market. “With more than 70 product categories and thousands of new product introductions from more than 2,000 exhibitors spread across 12 million square feet of showroom space, navigating the High Point Market can be a daunting task,” says Brian D. Casey, president and chief executive officer of the High Point Market Authority. “The new Product Locator stations are designed to provide access to core information essential to both our seasoned buyers and first-time visitors and to make the buying process more efficient for all. Buyers can search by product category and map their route by company name and showroom building, complete with a map of shuttle routes that serve the showrooms they most want to see. Much like our Market Scout and Ambassador Programs—which pair High Point University (HPU) interior design students and home furnishings professionals with first-time visitors as guides during Market—our goal in providing the Product Locator stations is to continually enhance the level of customer service here at Market and provide concierge-level support to all customers on the ground.”
Casey continues, “We’re very proud to work with Dell on this special project and we appreciate their willingness to assist us in making the High Point Market the most productive business event in the home furnishings industry. This is the kind of collaboration at the local level that exemplifies the sense of community here in the Piedmont Triad and underscores the importance of the High Point Market to the entire region’s economy. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.
