2008 Pinnacle Design Achievement Awards Winners

The American Society of Furniture Designers (ASFD) announced that it celebrated the 2008 13th Annual Pinnacle Design Achievement Awards on Monday evening at the iconic Natuzzi Showroom, showcased for the evening's event by Martin Roberts and Grid 2 International.
Following Prosecco served on the gangplank, and jazz and Italian antipasti sponsored by Hickory Springs Manufacturing, a major sponsor for ASFD, the almost 300 guests began an evening honoring great design, in a setting that was an homage to design aesthetics.
Jack Lewis, President, welcomed guests, designers, and sponsors who included, our major underwriter, Furniture Today, AzkoNobel and High Point Market Authority as major sponsors, and Appalachian Hardwoods, Elmo Leather, Furniture Style, Hafele America Co., Hickory Springs Mfg., Home Furnishings Business, Home Lighting and Accessories Lighting and, International Home Furnishings Center, Leggett and Platt, Merchandise Mart Properties, Showplace, and 220 Elm.
Steve Hodges, Pinnacle Chair and future president introduced the 2008 Pinnacle Judges who were, Dr. Richard Bennington, High Point University, Clint Engel, Furniture Today, Terry Allen, Industry Consultant, Steve Walker, Consultant to NC State University, Julie Smith, Editor in chief, Furniture Style, Jo Flesicher, Editor Home Furnishing Business, Daren Koenig Cronin, Manager Diane Davant Design Center, Jackie Hirchhaut, VP with AHFA, Rhonda Wolf, Asst VP Haverty's, Max Shangle, professor at Kendall School of Design, and Judith Z. Cushman, Adjunct professor at UNCG's Architecture and Design program.
Nancy Glass, noted host of HGTV and head of Nancy Glass Productions co hosted with Ray Allegrezza Editor in Chief of Furniture Today. Lelie Fishbein was honored for her contributions to ASFD, and presenters sharing the stage with Mr. Allegrezza were Tom Inman, Appalachian Hardwoods; Pam Martin, AzkoNobel; Joe Bograd, Bograds; Cary Benson, Natuzzi; Carol Greg, Red Egg; Jay Howard, I. O. Metro, Tracy Bulla, Home Accents; Jenny Heinzen York Editor, Home Accent; and Barclay Butera of Barclay Butera Home.
