Capel reported that it wrapped up the 2009 Winter Market season last week with a show-stopping display at Las Vegas Market. Although attendance was down from the previous year, numbers were higher than expected as buyers turned out to see Capel's fresh styles for 2009.
"We're very happy with the Las Vegas turnout," said Allen Robertson, vice president of sales for Capel. "The general attitude was positive and focused on optimizing quality, style and value. While buyers were more conservative with their purchases, I think that Capel surpassed their expectations with impressive new offerings."
Capel saw particular interest in soft modern designs for smaller spaces, versatile constructions for multi-use areas and fun, lively patterns that lift the spirits. Braids continued to be a strong seller, with extra attention paid to bold new designs.
Distinctive Inspirations
Capel offered market-goers in Las Vegas a fresh take on home décor with new collections inspired by a distinctive and artistic perspective. Marrying practicality and beauty, Capel drew the interest of showroom visitors with unique designs.
A clear winner at market, Chateau enticed buyers with its soft hand and transitional floral design. What amazed purchasers even more was its indoor-outdoor versatility. The latest offering from the Capel Anywhere™ line, Chateau is the company's first ever loop-hooked indoor-outdoor rug, offering supreme softness and cushioning underfoot. Chateau features vintage arts and crafts styling in large-scale floral patterns which are both elegant and whimsical. A strong seller in this category at market, the Mumtaz collection features superior, hand-spun 100% wool yarn imported exclusively by Capel from India. Now available in the new color combinations of beige/aqua and honey/mocha, Mumtaz-Meshed's elegant design features a subtle color palate with delicate, sweeping Persian motifs. One of Capel's most elegant collections, Biltmore Classics garnered interest in Capel's Las Vegas showroom.
