Easy Furniture Web Tip #158 - Don’t Delete An Audio Testimonial Before Capturing It

This happened to me. A client left an audio testimonial on my voice mail about how well my search engine optimization (SEO) services turned out for his business.
My first reaction was to smile. How gratifying! My next step was to copy down what he said to use as a testimonial on my website (I would get permission of course).
But then I thought, what about
capturing the audio and putting it on my website? I looked around in my computer software for some way to do that.
I have an iMac and there’s a program it comes with called Garage Band. Sure enough there was a way to make a recording.
I simply re-played the message on my speakerphone, while holding it close to the microphone in my computer.
In the editing session that followed, I snipped out a few random comments. Then I uploaded it to my testimonial web page. All together it only took about an hour.
You can hear it here.
Granted, there may have been a better way to grab the audio testimonial off of my phone, but this worked for me. If you have a similar situation, you can consult with your tech person.
The main thing is don’t let it get away!
Notice on my website that I also put my client’s comments in text as well as audio. This helps the
search engines identify the content of the page, and it helps those folks who just don’t want to click on the audio and listen. I put his picture there, too.
Easy Furniture Web Tip #158: If someone leaves a great audio testimonial on your voice mail, capture it and use it on your website.
