I find writing content and analyzing data with respect to websites requires intense focus.
To help my concentration, I’ve always liked listening to music while I work. But whether I was listening to a favorite CD or an online radio channel,
sometimes a particular musical piece would be distracting.
Then I learned about
focusatwill.com. It’s a service that will play instrumental pieces that are scientifically proven to increase your focus up to 400% … they claim. Their musical selections are based on neuroscience. I have no clue as to the scientific accuracy of their claims.
I do know that it works for me. When I’m listening to their music, I am able to
stick with a piece of work longer and my
concentration is markedly improved. I can feel it in my bones.
If you allow certain employees to listen to music at work but are concerned about their level of distraction, check out this resource.
They have several channels available: Classical, Focus Spa, Up Tempo, Alpha Chill, Acoustical, Cinematic, Ambient, and Water. I find the best channels for me are Classical, Cinematic, and Acoustical. The others are a bit weird in my opinion.
The pieces are
real music. They’ve just been well selected for brain focus. Another cool thing is that you can
adjust the energy level of the music being delivered to you.
The only problem with the service is that you could get so focused that you
work too long, straining both your eyes and your brain. Set a timer every 45 to 60 minutes and take a break.
On their
website, you can get a generous
free trial, and if you decide to sign up, costs are minimal.
Easy Furniture Web Tip 190: If you or your employees like to listen to music while working, check out this resource for non-distracting music that promises to boost your concentration for all kinds of tasks.
